邓小平的改革开放思想主要有五个方面:改革是加快现代化建设的迫切需要,也是全国人民的长远利益所在;改革的方向要坚定不移,改革的办法要积极稳妥;改革开放既不能照搬外国,也不能脱离世界;解决改革开放中的政治原则问题不搞运动,但一定要掌握好批评的武器;既在改革开放中坚持社会主义,又在改革开放中发展社会主义。

Deng Xiaoping＇s thought on reform and opening up includes five respects： accelerating the modernization drive is in urgent need of reform and the reform is also long-term interests of the people of all ethnic groups in China; we must unswervingly adhere to the orientation of reform and make vigorous yet steady efforts to advance reform; we cannot blindly apply foreign experience and cannot be separated from the world in the course of reform and opening up; we cannot launch cam- paigns to solve political problems related to reform and opening up, but we should master weapons of criticism; we must keep to socialism and develop socialism in the course of reform and opening up.
