摘要
翻译作为一种教学方法或手段,在英语教学中有着悠久的传统,但随着翻译法的种种弊端在语言教学发展中的突显,翻译手段屡遭诟病,被认为过分依赖母语而妨碍了外语习得。然而,从语言学习的角度看,翻译无疑是一种认知策略,即以母语为基础,理解或输出第二语言。在英语教学中,使用翻译手段适当地进行两种语言之间的转换对于促进学生的语言能力发展是有益的。
Translation, as a teaching approach, has long been used in teaching English. But with the development of language teaching, defects of translation approach have emerged. It is said that translation approach over - relies on native language, thus becoming an interference in learning a foreign language. However, from the point of view of language learning, translation is no doubt a cognitive strategy: to understand and output the second language based on native language. In English teaching, translation is helpful in improving the students' language ability.
