Urban Tulou

都市实践与万科集团合作的万科土楼项目在2008年10月3日在美国纽约库伯-休伊特国立设计博物馆以"独展·土楼——中国的低收入住宅"为名开幕展出,并得到纽约时报专栏的赞扬评论。借鉴传统客家土楼设计低收入住宅,不是在形式上的承袭而是通过对土楼空间的再创造以适应当代社会生活。将"新土楼"植入当代城市,开发利用城市高速发展过程中遗留下来的不便使用的闲置土地。作为一种手段来解决快速城市化进程中大量人口迁入产生的居住问题。

The recently completed Tulou project, developed by the Vanke Group and designed by the Urbanus, was exhibited in Cooper Hewitt National Design Museum titled as Solos： Tulou/ Affordoble Housing for Chino, ope ned on Oct. 3rd. The New YorkTimes reported a review on the design concept. Inspired by the traditional vernacular form of Tulou and the process of adopting modern urban life style by recreating the inner space. The project also extends a discussion on the possibility of mass construction using Tulou form by using corners Ioto of the city for lowincome housing.
