The rhetorical figure in chinese dish names is exquisite and has beauty from the body and the spirit. There are two mainly kinds of rhetorical figure in dish names. One kind is metaphor which has succinct language and compact structure. The other one kind is allusion which is very exquisitely depicted and shows unique characteristic. The folk vehicle embodys the soul of chinese culture. It mainly includes three categories： the plant vehicle which is refined and noble and discussion by forms, the animal vehicle which merges the activity and inertia and exceeds fascianating and charming,the gods and spirits vehicle which goes back to ancient times and has much inside information. These vehicles can promote pepoles＇s aesthetic feelings in dish,improve the dish name＇s artistic taste, and also can stimulate psychological imagination of tasters, show embodiment thinking of the chinese people, thus it brings about the functions that present distinctively humanistic charm and achieve multiple effects.
