This paper introduces the idea of making a micro-pmgrammabel controller （＂PLC＂ for short）with AT89C51 Single-chip Mierocomputer,ineluding the specific hardware eongigurafion and software desiging.To illustrate PLC＇s fanetion,the application of PLC in water tower to control water level is given as an example.The paper also suggests PLC＇s application in eertain courses.
