For a long time, there is a hot debate on the problem of Joseph Conrad's colonial attitude. This article attempts to analyze several Conrad's novels from the perspective of colonialist on the basis of Hegel and Lacan's philosophical theory on self/ego. In his novel concerned, Conrad describes what western colonialists do in their colonies, which brought disastrous destroy to the colonial people. But on the other way round the colonialization calls the deepest darkness of human nature and drives colonialists themselves to tragedy. Thus the white myth of the western civilization has been drastically subverted.
