严复的教育救国思想及其现实借鉴

Analysis on Yanfu＇s Idea of Saving the Nation by Education and Its Positive Meaning

严复是中国近代著名的资产阶级启蒙思想家，他认为中国文化的落后是中国衰落的根本原因，因而将教育看成是救国的根本。严复在正确解决中学与西学关系问题基础上，从中国教育的症结入手，通过强化教育救国观念，引进西方先进的教育理念和教育制度，实现其教育救国的主张。在全面实施科教兴国战略的今天，我们应对其教育救国思想进行合理借鉴，为当前的社会改革特别是教育改革服务。

Yan Fu is a famous Chinese modern bourgeois enlightenment thinker. He believed that the backwardness of the Chinese culture was the root cause for China＇s decline. So he regarded edueation as the basis of saving the nation. Yan Fu resolved the problem of the relations between the Chinese learning and Western learning. Analyzing the problem of Chinese education, he introduced the advanced western educational idea and system to China in order to make it true to save the nation by education. Today in the full implementation of the strategy of rejuvenating the nation through science and education, we should learn from their education salvation rational thinking to the current social reforms especially education services.
