The main claim within this article is, that a few key concepts define Dutch Landscape Architecture and most of these deal with the theme of ＇authenticity＇ Authenticity has been reinterpreted over the centuries, but always remained the-implicit-criterion to judge and develop the architecture of the various landscapes. In the end, the argument will be made that a Dutch authenticity does not reflect a natural state of perfection, but a curious and artificial kind of authenticity, a Dutch Sublimity.
