Review of Chinese water history studies

水利史研究室是我国目前唯一从事水利史、灾害史与水文化的研究机构。70多年来,水利史研究室开展了大量有关科研工作,取得了丰硕成果,其中不乏抢救性成果。包括水利资料的采集、整编和信息化建设,水利史和水文化基础研究,古代水利工程遗产保护与利用研究,水资源与水环境演变研究,历史水旱灾害及减灾方略研究,以及水利基础信息标准化研究。今后水利史研究将坚持认知与济用相结合的方向,推动学科在基础和应用研究方面继续前行。

Water Conservancy History Department, IWHR is the only research institute of China dealing with studies of water history, disaster history and water culture. In more than 70 years, the department has undertaken a series of studies and accumulated plenty of study results including data collection for salvage. The study ranges fiom data collection and processing, basic studies of water history and water culture, ancient heritage protection and utilization, evolution of water resources and environment, historical flood and drought disasters and relief measures and standardization of water information. The future study of water history should stick to combination of theory and practice, promoting basic and application studies.
