Data Integrity and Reconstruction:On the Planning,Development and Future of the Modern Chinese Literature Research Portal

介绍香港中文大学成立中国研究的背景,概述大学图书馆系统与中国语言及文学系联合提出"中国现代文学研究网站计划"的构思。透过分析中国现代文学的出版数量及不同版本,指出"中国现代文学"作为一个学科而言,在在须要整合散见各处的研究资料。中国现代文学作家的著述资料,散见不同的图书馆及个别书目文献书籍,部分作家如鲁迅,不论单行本或全集皆版本繁多,该文将探讨如何利用中国现代文学研究网站,建立一站式資讯平台,提供单行本、期刊论文、报刊文章、学位论文等不同类别的中、英、日语的资料,把分散的资料集中及提供书目分类浏览,以至按不同作家特色制作专题书目,以利学者作进一步的研究。

In its Strategic Plan 2006, The Chinese University of Hong Kong identified Chinese Studies as one of the five key areas for strategic research investment in next ten years. In this paper, the background of setting up the Chinese Studies Initiative is described and the proposal for developing the Modern Chinese Literature Research jointly initiated by the University Library System and the Chinese Language and Literature Department is outlined. By analyzing the publication history and various editions of the modern Chinese literature, the authors point out that there is an emerging need to put together published works on modern Chinese literature in a centralized database in order to facilitate future research work. For example, there are many editions of the works by Lu Xun either in single volume or in complete works published in the past century. This paper discusses how to make use of the Modern Chinese Literature Research Portal to provide a single platform for various kinds of resources such as monographs, journal articles, newspaper articles, dissertations etc. published in Chinese, English and Japanese languages. Special research topics are also provided on the writers＇ web pages in order to enhance further discussion and research work.
