Aida found more than one good home in China in 2008. Apart from the Cairo Opera House production that premiered at the Na- tional Centre for the Performing Arts in July,Shanghai audiences also had a chance to enjoy the Elton John Broadway musical Aida in October. Surfing internet chatrooms,we found Carrie,who saw both the opera Aida and musical Aida.Other participants have seen an earlier produc- tion of Aida in China,and even saw a film made of the subject.
