With the constantly strengthening of consciousness of environmental protection and the continuously upgrading of exhaust emission regulation, automobile exhaust emission requirement become more and more stringent. A kind of integral engine and exhaust after treatment system was developed by some international companies. According to the after-treatment technology which meet the requirements for EuropelV Exhaust Emission Regulation, the working principle, key structure and technical requirements of the automobile with selective catalytic reduction （SCR） of the exhaust after-treatment system are discussed in detail. It shows the main technical difference and the research direction and development trend of engine exhaust treatment.
