论吕祖谦的人格气度和学术特色

On the Moral Qualities and Academic Character of LU Zu-qian

吕祖谦一生,不仅给后人留下了珍贵的人文遗产,而且留下了以淳厚、笃实、宽平为特点的高贵卓越的人格气度,此种人格气度表现在学术上则形成了以"委曲拥护"、"泛观广接"、"兼取其长"、"宽容开放"见长的学术特色。文章运用大量材料与史实集中讨论和分析了吕的此种人格气度和学术特色。还从吕与朱熹的学术和人格的比较中对吕学的地位进行评价,指出吕的人格和学术所包含的宽容、博大、开放之气质既是中华传统文明最具价值的德性主义传统的继承发扬,也完全可以与近现代人类共同文明的自由、民主、宽容的精神相接攘,其中所包含的内在价值值得今人崇敬、珍视和发扬。

LU Zu-qian, a famous scholar of Song dynasty, left behind himself not only precious cultural heritage, but also qualities of purity, honesty, sincerity, and generosity, which helped build up his academic character featuring concessive support, extensive contact, absorption, tolerance and openness. This article analyses his moral qualities and academic character based on historical documents and facts. This paper also compares the academic and moral qualities of LU and Zhu Xi （ another famous scholar of the Song dynasty ）, and pointes out that LU＇s qualities of generosity and candor is not only inherited from Chinese traditional culture, but can also fit in with the ideas of freedom, democracy, and generosity of modern times, the inner value of which deserves our admiration, cherishing and development.
