教科书与人类其他文明一样,通过积累和传播而得到发展。从19世纪中期开始,伴随着教会学校以及洋务学堂的发展,大量的西式教科书被引进。这些全新的教学用书,拉开了中国近现代教科书发展的帷幕,并呈现出那个年代独有的特征。
