Global Shipping Industry Enters Winter

进入10月以来,全球班轮干线的旺季早早地收了场,昔日火爆、繁忙的景象已经远离。来自货运市场一线的业务经理抱怨说,几个月来亚欧航线的运价一直看跌,如今在300美金左右徘徊,而去年同期则保持在1300～1400美元。

Since October,the busy season of global regular cargo shipping lines has come to an end. The Asia-Europe and Asia-America lines,once busy with tons of cargo and packed vessels,appeared pretty weak. In contrast to the container regular cargo ship-ping market,the Baltic Dry Index(BDI) fell drastically from 6,828 points at the end of Q3 down to 2000 points,1000 points,and eventually 841 points on November 17—the lowest since 2003. Compared to the record high 11,793 points on May 20 this year,the decreasing rate has exceeded an unprecedented 90 percent. The turbulent global shipping market is about to enter a cold winter.
