Prospects of China's Coastal Shipping and the Issue of Coastal Shipping Rights

The article mainly focuses on issues related to China's coastal shipping. As the author understands,this arrangement doesn't mean that China Shipping Group,which the author working for,is only engaged in domestic coastal transport. In fact,up to now,over 60 percent of our revenue has been gained from global operations. China Shipping has already grown into a super-large shipping conglomerate which can provide global services in container,tanker,and dry bulk cargo shipping. Nevertheless,China Shipping is indeed a major player in domestic transportation,taking market shares of over 65%,30% and 40% in domestic shipping of container,oil and coal respectively. To be frank,that performance is something remarkable. The author would like to share with his readers his view on two topics. One is the prospects of China's coastal coal transport and domestic container shipping,as well as China Shipping's experience in these two fields. Another topic is a discussion on cabotage rights.
