The Wall Street Financial Crisis and China's External Economic Environment

2008年以来,国际经济环境异常复杂,美国次贷危机发酵恶化,美元大幅波动,粮油价格疯涨骤降,通货膨胀窜高,股市直线下挫,全球经济危机四伏,不确定性明显上升。近期,美国"两房"被政府接管,雷曼兄弟破产、美林公司被并购,摩根士丹利和高盛公司转型,华尔街金融风暴席卷全球,使欧洲深陷金融危机,一些新兴市场严重遭殃,我国外部经济环境异常复杂。然而,我国发展机遇仍在,经济基本面依然较好,发展总体态势不变。

Since the beginning of 2008,the international economic situation has turned much complicated,characterized by such phenomena as the worsening of sub prime mortgage loan crisis in the U.S.,the violent fluctuation of the value of American dollars,the soaring and declining of the prices for grain and oil,inflation going up high and stock market staying low,which resulted in an economic crisis of global scale and the cropping up of uncertainties.Of late,Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac were taken over by the American government,Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc.has gone bankrupt,Merrill Lynch & Co.has been merged,Morgan Stanley and Goldman Sachs have been transformed,and the Wall Street financial storm is sweeping across the world.All this has put Europe deep into financial crisis,brought insurmountable difficulties for some emerging markets and made China's external economic environment even more complicated.However,the development opportunities for China remain,China's economy is basically healthy and the general trend of further development will not be interrupted.
