摘要
本文以英语语料为基础,论述缓冲语的概念发展及其主要功能;阐述缓冲语的形式、语义及语用特性,并将语用学属性归结为其本质属性。
This article, based on English data, tries to pursue the developmental route for the notion of hedge, from both formal and functional perspectives. It then elaborates the grammatical, semantic and pragmatic properties of hedges and argues that the pragmatic features are the most important features to define hedges.
