材料专业英语教学改革初探

材料专业英语教学是材料科学与工程专业学生大学英语教学中必不可少的组成部分,其目的是培养学生以英语为工具解决材料科学与工程专业学习中的实际问题的能力,为学生毕业设计乃至今后工作奠定基础。目前我国各高校对材料专业英语的教学不够重视,相关教材内容比较枯燥,教学方法和教学手段、考核方式单一。要解决这些问题必须从教材的选择与建设、教学方法和考核方式等方面进行改革。

Material specialty English teaching is indispensible to those students who major in material science and engineering, aimed at developing students＇ capability of using English language as a tool to solve problems in learning this major, thus laying a foundation for their future graduation design and work. Currently, the neglect of English teaching of material specialty English can he seen from the fact that some textbooks are all the more dull and boring, that teaching methods and devices are far from perfect, and that testing modes are single. To settle the problem, efforts of reform must be made, in such areas as the selection and construction of textbooks, teaching methods and testing modes.
