宗教文化与习语关系探析

On the Relationship between Religious Cultures and Idioms

习语是语言中独立而固定的特殊成分,是民族特色和各种修辞手段的集中表现,是一个民族文化与智慧的结晶,其中包括成语、谚语、俗语、典故、格言和歇后语,等等。在体现语言的文化差异上,习语比其他的语言成分更具备典型性、代表性。从社会语言学和跨文化交际学的角度,解读宗教文化与习语的关系,剖析中西方宗教信仰差异,揭示英汉习语的文化内涵,从而增进英语学习者对英汉习语的理解、掌握和翻译的准确性。

Idioms are the set and special elements in the language. They, including proverbs, sayings, colloquial phrases, allusions and slangs, are the product of national culture and wisdom and represent the national features and various rhetorical skills. In reflecting cultural differences of languages, idioms are more typical than other language elements. This thesis unscrambles the relationship between religious cultures and idioms, studies the differences in religious beliefs between Chinese people and the Westerners, and also explores the cultural connotations in Chinese and English idioms from the perspective of social lingustics and cross-culture so as to help English learners to understand and translate Chinese and English idioms better.
