Study on the Cultural Perspective Function of English Vocabulary

文章依据文化语言学的理论将词汇文化分为无对等词词汇、有着很强社会文化和历史意义的词汇、习语以及礼仪性的客套语四类,探讨了英语词汇对英语国家文化的透视功能,揭示了词汇是文化的载体,词汇与文化密不可分的事实,同时指出了剖析词汇层面的文化内涵是英语文化教学的有效途径。

Taking the theory of culture linguistics as its basis, the author tries to analyze the cultural connotation embodied in some typical culturally - loaded vocabulary of four kinds in English by lots of examples. The main emphasis has been laid on the close relationship between vocabulary as a cartier and culture. Finally it comes to a conclusion that analyzing the cultural connotation embodied in vocabulary in language teaching may be an effective way of culture language teaching in English study.
