Harmony: The Soul of Life Philosophy of The Taigu School

太谷学派是清朝嘉庆、道光年间由安徽池州石埭人周太谷创办的一个民间儒家学派。该学派具有丰富的生命哲学思想,尤其是注重探究生命系统的和谐状态及其过程,形成了学派独特的生命和谐观。其生命和谐观涉及到天地万物之和、个体系统之和、社会人伦之和诸方面,对于现代个体生命和谐、家庭和谐、社会和谐、自然和谐以至整个宇宙和谐都具有重要价值。

The Taigu School is founded during the years from Jiaqing to Daoguang of Qing Dynasty by Taigu ZHOU from Shidai,Chizhou, Anhui Province. It is regarded as a school of folk Confucianism that contains rich ideas of life philosophy, and has particular interest in exploring the harmonious state and formation process of life system. This unique view of life harmony is concerned with the harmony between the heaven and the earth, individual and system, society and human relations. It is therefore enlightening for the study of the harmony in modern individual life, family, society, nature and even the whole universe.
