党的十七大的一个重要贡献,是鲜明地提出中国特色社会主义"一面旗帜、一条道路、一个理论体系"。这一理论概括,既是对改革开放30年历史经验的总结,也是对新中国60年历史经验的总结。"一面旗帜、一条道路、一个理论体系",通过改革开放以来历次党代表大会报告以及中央全会上的决定和重要讲话所提出的新思想、新观点、新论断,深刻体现出来并不断创新发展,构成了党和国家发展的根本,在当代中国放射着灿烂的真理光芒。

A momentous contribution of the Eleventh National Congress of the CPC is that it unambiguously established the principle of 'a banner,a path and a theoretical system' of socialism with Chinese characteristics.This theoretical summing up encapsulates the historical experiences of the thirty years of reform and opening up,as well as those of the sixty years of the People's Republic of China.Through the new thinking,new viewpoints and new conclusions put forward in the decisions and important speeches made by the national congresses of the CPC and the plenary sessions of the Central Committee since 1978,'a banner,a path and a theoretical system' of socialism with Chinese characteristics has been profoundly embodied and constantly developed and innovated.It is fundamental to the development of the CPC and China,and the brilliant light of its truth illuminates contemporary China.
