创新立国是我国在新世纪确定的一项战略决策。高校集聚了大批高水平的教师和优秀学生，在进行基础研究、培育重大原创性成果方面有着得天独厚的条件。因而高校，特别是高水平研究型大学是建设创新型国家的一个重要方面军。“创新立国”，关键在于创新型人才的培养。培养创新型人才是一个系统工程，需要从基础教育抓起，全社会努力，从狠抓创造性思维着力。其中，华中科技大学等国内部分研究型大学在训练大学生创造性思维，培养拔尖创新型人才方面已经做出了可喜的探索与实践。

To develop country innovatively is a new strategic decision China has made in new century Colleges and universities gather a large number of high-level teachers and outstanding students, which made them have great conditions to improve outcome in basic and major original researches. Thus, colleges and universities, especially high standard ones, are important in the process of building innovative country. To Develop Country Innovatively, the key is to cultivate innovative talents. It is a systematic job to cultivate innovative talents, requires great efforts on creative thinking, to start from basic education and sociaUy attentions. HUST and other domestic research universities have made valuable exploration and practice in the training of creative thinking and culturing innovative topnotch talents.
