2008年的青岛，是如此独特而幸运——8月刚刚成功举办了举世瞩目的奥运会帆船比赛，10月又迎来了一个重大的国际音乐赛事——国际小提琴比赛。文化与体育，如此具体而巧妙地结合，为青岛这个美丽的城市勾勒出一幅和谐的画卷。

Qingdao is a young city. From 1891 when the city was established to the present, Qingdao has only been in existence for 115 years. However, the history of the violin in Qingdao is almost as long as that of the city itself. After the German army occupied Qingdao in 1897, western music was popular in the foreigners＂ residential areas. In the wake of the construction of churches, church music became popular. Consequently, the performance on such western musical instruments as violin and keyboard instruments gradually spread to Qingdao.
