By discussing the influence of traditional culture and western industrial civilization on forging modern national quality and building socialist harmonious society,this paper addresses the relations between individual quality and the construction of socialist harmonious society. Using logical analysis meth od, this paper reveals the relations among traditional culture,western civilization and the construction of harmonious society,and draws the conclusion that harmonious society must be built upon the existing national quality and its constant improvement.
