The Evaluation of Chinese Library Science Indigenization in Early 20^(th) Century

20世纪初我国图书馆学研究普遍存在着中国化的学术诉求。前辈学者们以中国古代图书馆学思想为学术资源,努力消解西方话语的中心地位。但由于只把中国化的诉求局限于"应用"领域,尤其是局限于分类编目等具体技术领域,从而导致中国化内涵在"理论"领域的缺失;同时由于传统的分类目录不能在文献检索的实用意义上与以DDC为代表的西方分类编目技术一争高下,最终致使建构"中国图书馆学"的学术理想只能以失败而告终。

There exists calls for Chinese characteristic of library science in the early 20th century. Based on Chinese ancient library science theory, researchers try to change the western-centered discourse power of library science situation. However, in the process of indigenization, it is just confined to ＂applied＂ field such as classification and cataloging, and results that ＂academic＂ field lacks of Chinese characteristic. Moreover, in literature retrieval field Chinese traditional catalogue is not as good as western catalogue such as DDC. Thereby, the paper thinks that the ideal of establishing Chinese library science can＇ t be completed successfully.
