Building the integrated information system for lifelong learner——review of SHELL project

SHELL是由JISC资助的一项终身学习项目，整个计划实施的时间是2002～2005年。本文主要介绍了该计划产生的背景，整个计划的系统设计，计划的主体——整合信息系统的设计，包括系统的技术基础设施、学习者记录门户和管理门户，以及对计划的评估工作，希望我国的终身学习能从中吸取经验。

SHELL is a lifelong learning project, funded by JISC during 2002--2005. The project was completed now, this article mainly introduces the background, project outputs including technical infrastructure, the learner record portal and the administrative portal, the evaluation work. It hopes that china＇ s lifelong learning will learn something from it.
