公共图书馆免费服务的现实与方向探析

Reality and Trend of Free-of-Charge Services in Public Libraries

文章在回顾我国部分公共图书馆实行免费服务短暂历程的基础上,将公共图书馆的免费服务放在构建公共文化服务体系、促进文化事业大发展大繁荣以及国际图书馆通行做法的视野下加以关照,认为免费服务虽然给公共图书馆带来了各方面的压力,但这些压力毕竟是暂时的,免费服务是公共图书馆事业继续发展的必然趋势。最后,文章提出了解决这些问题的对策。

The paper first reviews the short history of free - of - charge services in Chinese public libraries. Then based on Chinese government＇s attempts to setting up an adequate public cultural service system, to promote the development and prosperity of cultural undertaking and the operation of other public libraries over the world, the author concludes that though public libraries will be confronted with various pressures by providing free - of - charge services, the pressures will be temporary ones and providing free - of - charge services is an inevitable trend in public libraries. Finally the author puts forward some solutions for problems appearing in this trend of Dreviding free services.
