The 5^th national conference on new technology of refrigeration and air - conditioning was held in Xiamen on August, 5 - 6, 2008. There were 125 papers communicated in the conference, covering 12 subjects such as refrigeration technology, air -conditioning and heat pump technology, computer simulation and optimization technology, and measurement and control technology. The research status, hot topics and technology development orientation of Chinese refrigeration and air - conditioning industry reported in this conference are analyzed and summarized.
