Sense of Mission of Universities

大学对于社会和国家的发展具有举足轻重的作用。大学的管理者及其组成人员必须具备六种责任意识,即推进社会发展、增强综合国力的先驱者意识,培养人才的质量意识,提升科研水平、端正学术风气的责任意识,坚持自主办学、崇尚学术自由的独立意识,引领良好社会风尚、构建和谐社会的表率意识,树立高尚雅正形象的自我意识等,需全方位强化并付诸实践。

Universities are essential for social and national development and their leaders and members must have six kinds of sense of responsibility in the following： （1） the sense of pioneers in enhancing social progress and comprehensive national strength, （2） the sense of quality in talent cultivation, （3） the sense of responsibility in raising research levels and rectifying academic practice, （4） the sense of independence in self--determination and academic freedom, （5） the sense of model citizens in guiding social behaviors and building harmonious society, and （6） the sense of the self in establishing noble and cultured images.
