摘要
旅游景区标牌汉译英是对外宣传本土文化的一个重要环节。由于相关部门重视不够,管理措施不得力,译者语言功底不扎实,责任心不强,译者对景区标牌所包含文化多样性和英汉之间的不对等性了解不够等多方面的原因,致使双语标牌英译中存在着不少错译漏译、信息传递不全等问题。本文选取中国西部科技城绵阳的几个旅游景区的标牌英译作为样本,分析产生这些错误的主要原因,并就如何解决旅游景区标牌翻译问题提出了几点建议,希望能够引起有关部门的高度重视。
The English version of public signs in scenic spot is an important way to spread our Chinese culture. But because of not sufficient importance attached, no effective measures taken, and those incompetent and irresponsible translators, there are inevitably many mistakes in translation. The author discusses some causes of mis- translation taken from the signs of a few scenic spots in Mianyang, a city of science and technology in western China, puts forward some proposals in the hope that the relevant departments would attach great importance.
