"舅权"制度是门巴族制度文化中一种重要的文化事象,也是门巴族历史发展过程中一种极为特殊的民间"权力制度",至今仍在墨脱门巴族的社会生活中发挥着某些重要的社会功能。从"舅权"制度产生的社会条件和环境来看,"舅权"制度源于门巴族氏族社会,伴随着门巴族社会的发展而变化。

Avunculate system is a kind of important cultural phenomenon in the Menba minority system, is also a special folk'power system'during the development process of the Menba minority,and it till now still plays an important role of social function in Menba's social life.Viewing from the social condition and environment which produced the system,avunculate originated from Menba clan society and developed with the society of Menba.
