On Zheng Gu’s Viewpoints of Poetry

以一首《鹧鸪》诗被人雅称"郑鹧鸪"的郑谷,是唐末宋初产生过重大影响的诗人。郑谷把呼唤风雅和盛唐气象的回归作为自己一以贯之的诗歌主张,并坚持汲取众家之长,不断创新,通过苦吟锻炼和学习南方民歌,最终自成清婉浅切一体。

Owing to the poem ＂francolin＂, Zheng Gu had been given the elegant name ＂Zheng francolin＂, who have had significant impact on late Tang and early Song Dynasty. He takes calling polite letters and holding Tang prosperity return as his principle to runs through all poetry, drawing strong point of great masters and innovating unceasingly. Eventually, he had become unique in his elegant and subtle poetry style by his industrious writing and south folk song learning.
