Returning Home: A Mental Journey of Ai Wu

过去人们多是从题材、人物、艺术方面谈论艾芜小说的独特性,少有人谈论其间反映出的艾芜思想、情感、心理的独特性。《南行记》以"异域情调"为文坛关注,稍后艾芜却转向描写岷沱流域的故乡,显示出与《南行记》不一样的价值取向。从他乡到故乡,不只是艺术之旅,更是艾芜的精神之旅。

Much discussion has surrounded the themes, characters and artistic achievements of the novels written by Ai Wu; but little has been done concerning Ai Wu＇s thoughts, emotions and mentality. The literary circle is attracted by the alien sentiment of Ai＇s A Journey South. However, the writer later turned to describe his hometown in the drainage areas of the Tuo River and Ming River, demonstrating a different value from that of A Journey South. This paper holds that returning home is not only an artistic journey, but also a mental and emotional journey of Ai Wu.
