This paper introduces the meanings of Subject Evaluation of Built Environment （SEBE） which is significant to the development of architectural theories. SEBE is a kind of scientific paradigms of design research. By describing a case study of an evaluation of the Leichtag Family Healing Garden at Children＇s Hospital and Health Center, San Diego, USA, SEBE is proved to be an useful methodology for improving the planning and design of Built Environment. Some aspects of evaluation methods are also discussed.
