王文濡先生选辑清代的古文,编成《续古文观止》,以弥补《古文观止》只收录明朝以前古文的不足。《续古文观止》重点选录桐城派古文家的优秀作品,充分体现清代古文的源流、宗派与发展主线。但是,由于封建传统观念的作祟,该文集也收录了一些内容糟粕的文章。

However, owing to the feudal concept of the traditional, the collection also included some articles which have feudal dross.
