In order to study the effects of sub-altitude training on blood biochemical indicators, Hb, RBC, WBC, HCT, CK, BUN, T and C of 6 men's weightlifters of the Chinese National Team were systematically observed before and after the 4-week sub-altitude training(847m). The result shows the following: 1. WBC first decreased and then increased. 2. Hb increased and was at a relatively high level during the period of subaltitude training. No significant difference was observed in RBC and HCT. 3. CK increased and kept at a high value. BUN was frst low, then high and then low again. 4. T and C first decreased and then increased. The conclusion is that sub-altitude training may significantly increase the weightlifters' Hb, improve the training load stimulation and enhance the athletes' fitness. The disadvantage lies in slow recovery, poor sleep, lower immunity and low excitement.
