变传动比汽车转向器齿扇是变模数的非圆齿轮。该机床在切削齿扇时，梳刀只作上下往复运动，工件（齿扇）既作圆周运动又作变速切向移动，即在变速范成运动中完成加工的。

The gear sector of variable transmission ratio in automobile steering mechanism is a variable module non-circular gear. During cutting gear sectors on this machine, the cutter performs vertical reciprocating motion only, while the workpiece (gear sector) performs both rotary motion and variable speed tangential displacement, i. e. the cutting is performed by variable speed generating motion.
