郭祥正与舒州

GUO Xiang-zheng and Shuzhou County

郭祥正是北宋皖江地区著名诗人。他为桐城县令三载,常去舒州州城,与州守、名士、高僧、隐者、异人广泛交游,留下了大量诗篇,皖山皖水为之增色。他曾造访太湖海会寺,拜谒守端禅师,遂使海会寺声名益彰,成为宋代淮西禅宗胜地。

GUO Xiang-zheng was one of the famous poets of Northern Song Dynasty within the area of Wanjiang. He used to be the county official of Tongcheng in the same area of old Wanjiang for almost three years. He always went to Shuzhou, the neighboring county of Tongeheng, connected frequently with the highest official, famous people and monks, hermits, and freaks, leaving large amount of poems and adding beauty to Wan area, which is short for Anhui province. Also he went to Taihu Haihui Temple, visited Shouduan monk, and therefore Haihui Temple got to know by many people and meanwhile became very famous Buddhist temple among the west of Huaihe River.
