On the Patriotism in Classical Chinese Poetry

在中华民族漫远悠久的瑰诗丽词长河中,绵延不断滚滚流淌着的爱国主义,蔚为壮观。纵览我们中华民族几千年的文化诗史,每一个时代,每一个诗派,无论兴盛衰落,抑或激昂婉约,都毫不动摇地或隐或现恪守着一个永恒的主题:爱国主义。正是它象一条红线贯穿于中华民族优秀传统文化的发展之中,使我们整个民族的向心力、凝聚力和归属感得以不断增强。

In the long and outstanding history of Chinese poetry, patriotism has been well developed. Taking a sweeping view of the Chinese cultural history of poetry over the past thousands of years, we can see that there has been an ever-lasting theme--the theme of patriotism--in every age, in every school and under all conditions. Patriotism works as the red line through the Chinese outstanding tradition and culture, and has improved the union, cohesion and sense of belonging of the Chinese nation.
