摘要
文中基于国家“九五”重点科技攻关项目,将目前通信领域中极具吸引力的ATM技术扩展至桌面系统,从硬件结构、软件实现(包括在面向连接的NDIS环境中开发的与硬件相关的Mini-portDriver,以及ATM终端系统的软件构造)等方面进行了综合阐述.给出了以PC机为平台,通过开发ATM网络接口卡,构造实用化ATM通信终端的实现方案.同时简要地描述了ATM通信终端的工作过程。
ATM (Asynchronous Transfer Mode),regarded as the technology of the 21st century,will have great impact on telecommunications around the world.In order to make full advantage of this attractive technology,one necessary step is to extend ATM directly to desktops.The total solution to a kind of ATM communication terminal equipments is introduced here,with emphasis on its basic hardware architecture,NDIS 5 0 Miniport Driver design and high level software implementation.Some examples of its functions and applications are also presented briefly.
