Always meditating on the topic nature and yearning for the harmonious existence in nature, Thoreau showed his ardent love for nature and severe criticism of materialism in Walden. Apart from its great ecological significance, the book also outstands in its language styles, especially in the various rhetorical devices applied throughout the book.
