加拿大西北社区学院ESL教学对我国高职院校英语教学的启示

Enlightenment of the ESL Teaching of Northwest Community College in Canada to the English Teaching of Higher Vocational College in China

加拿大西北社区学院的ESL教学主要有三个特点,一是采用"交际法"培养学生的语言交际能力;二是采用时事材料进行课堂教学;三是教师教学经验丰富。我国的高职院校英语教学应该借鉴加拿大西北社区学院的教学特点,对高职院校英语教学的教学方法、教学内容及师资队伍建设进行改革。

The ESL teaching in Northwest Community College in Canada has three main features. First, communication teaching method is adopted to train the students＇ language communicative competence. Second, current teaching materials are used in teaching. And third, the teachers are very experienced in teaching. We should learn from these features in the English teaching of, higher vocational college and make some reforms in our teaching methods, teaching contents and teaching staff construction.
