It is researched that there are over three hundred thousand family names in Japan, although the history for the eommon people to own their names is only 130 years. The number of the characters of their names varies, and the spellings are complicated. Moreover, there are some rare family names like ＂ One＂, or ＂Birds fly＂. As a eountry with only one nation, the family name culture in Japan is unique. It is a big problem even to Japanese due to its sophistication and weirdness. In modern Japan, it deserves great attention to the use of family name as there are both distinct feature and some new changes.
