摘要
以莱考夫和约翰逊的概念隐喻理论为依据,对英汉语中关于"死亡"的隐喻进行系统的对比分析,旨在证实英汉两种语言系统中关于死亡的隐喻概念不仅存在一致性也存在明显的差异。此外,从民族心理的角度分析死亡隐喻概念的异同所产生的根源,为进一步探索文化与语言及思维的辩证关系提供佐证。
Based on the Theory of Conceptual Metaphor proposed by Lakoff and Johnson, this study makes comparison of the conceptual metaphors on death in English and Chinese. Many variations rooted in their unique culture have been clearly found, as well as universalities originated from people＇s common sense toward one object in this world. By analyzing their different culture background, the close relationship among culture, language and thought haven been verified once more.
