摘要
《赤壁》(上)的英文字幕译者从目的语读者的角度出发,灵活运用了缩减、直译、归化等翻译策略,力求用地道、自然的英文来翻译原文,以便读者更好地理解和接受。本文引用该片中的大量译例,着重分析缩减式翻译策略的三种形式(浓缩、压缩性意译、删除)在该片字幕翻译中的运用。
From the perspective of audience, Red Cliff＇ s subtitling translator tries to translate in genuine and natural English by reduction, literal translation and domestication so that English readers can better understand the movie. A lot of examples are quoted to analyze how the translation methods-reduction translation including condensation, reductive paraphrasing and deletion are used in Red Cliff＇s subtitling translation.
