Agricuhural science and technology periodical is the main carrier and bridge to disseminate agricultural science and technology. In this paper, the development of agricultural science and technology periodical, as well as its service effectiveness in agriculture extension since reform and opening up, are demonstrated with detailed data. Furthermore, some strategies for developing agricultural science and technology periodical in knowledge economy era are expounded, from the aspect of cooperation of new media, rural distance education and service ＂agriculture, rural, farmer＂ with scientific information.
