Coal-formed Gas Plays a Significant Role in the Natural Gas Industry of China

煤成气是中国天然气工业的主角,充分表现在以下3方面:其一,2007年底中国煤成气探明总地质储量为39583.80×108m3,占全国天然气探明总储量的66.60%;其二,2007年底中国有储量大于300×108m3的大气田41个(除台湾省外),其中煤成气大气田总地质储量为35926.74×108m3,占全国探明天然气总储量的60.45%;其三,2007年底中国有四川盆地、塔里木盆地、鄂尔多斯盆地、莺琼盆地和柴达木盆地5个大产气区,除四川盆地大产气区煤成气产量占26.29%外,其余4个大产气区煤成气产量均占到90%～100%。

The coal-formed gas plays a leading role in the natural gas industry of China, which is verified by the following facts. First, the proved reserves of coal-formed natural gas are 39 583.80 × 10^8m^3 by the end of 2007, 66. 60% of the total natural gas reserves of China. Second, the numbers of gas fields, whose reserves are more than 300 × 10^8m^3, are 41 by 2007 （except Taiwan）. The proved coal-formed reserves of these giant gas fields are 35 926.74× 10^8m^3 , 60.45% of the total reserves in China. Third, there are 5 giant gas production areas including Sichuan basin, Tarim basin, Ordos basin, Yingqiong basin and Chaidam basin in China. Four of these areas have the coal-formed gas production taking 90% -100% in their respective total gas production. The coal-formed gas production in Sichuan accounts for only 26.29 % of its total production.
