The World of Meaning Constructed by Language Parsing:A Comparison of Ideas on Language and Cognition of Saussure and Gongsun Long

对索绪尔和公孙龙的语言学思想进行比较研究,探讨他们在语言与认知问题上观点的异同。索绪尔和公孙龙都认为语言是人类切分、认识世界的方式,但前者着重语形,而后者专注于语义。探讨其中的语言因素,并提出一些有待进一步研究的语言学问题。

This paper presents a comparative study on the linguistic ideas of Saussure and Gongsun Long, focusing on the similarity and difference between the two on the issues of language and cognition. Both Sanssure and Gongsun Long agree that language is the way human beings parse and know the world, but the former comes to the emphasis on language language factors therein and raises form, while the latter on language meaning. This paper further explores the accordingly some questions to be inquired into lina＇uistics study.
